It’s the last Friday in July you guys!!!! Can you believe that?
I’m in Virginia this week, shooting and celebrating my best friend’s wedding. Only fitting that this weeks featured photographer at one point offered elopement and wedding photography. These days, she’s poured all she has into personal branding!!! Pretty awesome!
I want you guys to meet Nicole Galloway!!!! We kind of met in a special way. She did a family session for my family and I. A very special session. The images from that session will forever be some of the most treasured images I own. They were the very last pictures taken of my dad with us before he lost his battle with cancer. Nicole lives – not too much longer though, they are moving – across the street from my dad and step mom. She has given our family one of the greatest gifts. Memories captured forever. 🙂
OK, so I wanted to say thank you in a special way!! Well when you do what we do, you gift a photo shoot lol! So, I had the chance to come back to Colorado and shoot a family session for her and her family. That pic of them below is one of the images from our shoot!!! That’s her and one of her littles Miss B!
Now, check out some of what makes Nicole tick!!!
Make sure to check out the slide show of Nicole’s work!!! You don’t want to miss a peek at those unicorn sessions she’s offered!! 🙂
Tell me a little bit about yourself: Where are you from? What are a few favorite things you can’t live without?
I was born and raised in Fruita, CO I can’t live without my purple mattress, chocolate, exercise and of course my family.
Where is your business based?
Right now I am based out of Wellington, CO but will be relocating soon.
How long have you been a photographer? What’s in your camera bag?
I have officially been a business for 2.5 years. My camera bag includes my canon 5D mark iii and all my lenses. It also includes my magmod diffusers and flashes and my remote ocf control.
Who are some of your favorite photographers? What draws you to their work?
I have followed Dean Lara and Adventure First (originally Maddie Mae) since the beginning. I love their style and although I no longer do weddings I apply many of the skills I learned from replicating some of the styles they use.
What influences other than photographers are some of your favorites? Artists, writers, music?
My music preference changes constantly. I just finished reading a book by Cynthia Johnson. I am reading now books by Steven Reize and Chris. All of these books are on Personal Branding. I also enjoy reading health books.
What kind of photo sessions do you offer clients? Which are your favorite and why?
I have done everyone from unicorns to weddings. I currently offer commercial and personal branding sessions along with strategy consultations for personal branding. Personal Branding has become my passion and is by far my favorite niche of photography because I can still be creative and I can help entrepreneurs and business owners become more successful in their own businesses.
What made you want to be a photographer? What inspires you to create the beautiful images you give your clients?
I have always had an interest in it and I decided when we moved to Colorado 3 years ago I would make my dream become reality. I love to deliver photos that make my clients feel like the session with me was totally worth it.
What is the most important thing to you when working with clients?
Communication and fun!
How would you describe your photography style?
Sharp, natural but unique
What’s your advice for someone who wants to do be a photographer?
Although this is contrary to what most photographers would say, I would tell them to explore every type of photography before they decide on a niche. I always thought I would be an elopement photographer but it turns out I love personal Branding way more!
Where do you see yourself, your work, and your business 5 years from now?
I see myself working with many different entrepreneurs or businesses providing quality photography work that is an important asset to their business. I also hope to be mentoring and coaching my clients on personal branding and helping them build and strengthen their personal brands.
Here’s how to get in touch with Nicole:
On which social media sites can people check out your work?
Facebook, website, linked in, Instagram, maybe google? I don’t post a lot on google.
