Happy October! Are you thinking about Christmas?

That “C” word in the heading to this paragraph is just what everyone wants to hear in the middle of October . . . NOT!!! LOL!!!! But, hear me out!

I know Christmas is a ways off. I mean we need to get through Thanksgiving first. But, I figured the temps are still decent outside and the kids will be less cranky if they aren’t freezing. And you will have a chance to catch all sales for Christmas cards before they need to be mailed out then this year! Win win!!! I personally am constantly in a battle to get ahead on things so that I can enjoy the holidays instead of worrying about what I forgot to take care of. I mean my list is endless of things I run out of time for. LOL!!!! I get totally distracted in my books.

So, here is what I’m offering this year for you guys!

Timeless Christmas Mini Sessions

I was going to order a backdrop and offer indoor mini sessions at first. Make some room in my house again, set up all the props, have peeps come over, and shoot. But then I thought about it for a while after digging through some of my archived galleries. I didn’t want to be inside. I didn’t want propped up fake backdrops and so many props that the individuals I’m taking pictures of disappear in the photo.

I came across this particular mini (the one in the pix above and below) I offered years back. They were simple. Just enough props to show that we were in the holiday spirit when taking the pictures, but not too many to draw the eye to the props instead of the humans!!! LOL!! It’s my favorite thing when photographing families. To keep the props away. Even when I was still shooting studio newborns, I didn’t really like adding too many things. Timeless . . . I wanted the pictures to always be timeless. That way they could be displayed year round. Obviously with even a few Christmas props in the pix it’s going to show the time of year they were taken for. But still, I love that the people were most important to the lens during these sessions. So!

Instead of picking a couple of days during the month of November, I’m offering families the opportunity to book their mini to fit their own schedule. It seems so much easier to find days that work for you and I than to just pick a date for everyone! Rapid City is known for crazy weather so this also offers us the opportunity to work around that situation!
